Thomas the Tank cake
for birthday boy!
Toy trains on two tiered cake
"OMG Alicia! Everybody loved the cake you made, people were coming up to me and wanting to know when we were going to eat the cake because they wanted to see if it tasted as good as it looked and it DID! Thanks a lot girl!"
A couple wanted a replica of their original
wedding cake (left).....
And this is my interpretation (right)
"I would recommend you in a heartbeat and easily would have paid double for the cake you made us. We've tried 5 bakeries in San Antonio (including Nadlers) and your cake is the best replica of our wedding cake we've had in our 10 years. Not only on decor, but the taste is perfection. I'm keeping your card in my wallet so I can have the info handy in case anyone asks me for a good baker. :) "

"Cup Cake" Cake
"I asked Alicia for a "cupcake cake" for my son's 1st birthday and provided a picture of what I had in mind, and she created a beautiful and delicious cake for us! She adjusted the design to fit my needs (my son's name, etc.) and the cupcakes were a hit with everyone at the party! Thanks, Alicia!"

The presentation was also lovely. I have recommended her to several friends of mine and will continue to use Alicia for my future special occasions."

Color flow icing: (too detailed!)
I think because I reused the color flow a few days after I made it and didn't mix it good, a few days later the piece above dried like this:
Followed Wilton course 2 flower directions using Royal icing.
Buttercream icing to decorate cup cake (kelly green)
Piped leaves and added sprinkles
I donated 25 of these and 25 of the chocolate ones below for my sister's elementary school carnival.
Add Open Star Decorating Tip 18 rosette petals around flower center in rose icing. Using tip 67 add a leaf in green icing.

41/2-5 cups sifted powdered

Heat until melted
Cool 5 mins.
mix with sour cream
Use mixer to mix; gradually add powdered sugar. Mix until ingredients well blended. Use immediately; dries fast. These do NOT need to be refrigerated.
color bleeding into the whip cream icing.
Stabilized Whip Cream icing:
1/2 Pint(1 cup) Heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoons Confectioner's sugar
2 tablespoons piping gel
1/2 teaspoons clear vanilla extract
Mix whipping cream with sugar. Add piping gel and vanilla, mix. I would try hand mixing first.
I used a hand mixer to mix but be vary careful not to over mix. Once it seems whipped enough to mix all the ingredients that is enough. If it gets too much air from the mixer it will start to flatten and get real gross and unable to work with. Also from what I have read whip cream icing runs together so if you use different colors they may run together. I am not sure with this recipe as I have not tried it. I was on a deadline the one and only time I used it and didn't have time to experiment with it.
Buttercream, nothing special!
Used heart shaped cookie cutters to make outline on top and side of cake.
